Dani Leigh Arrested: DUI Incident full video Story
Police Officer: “I wonder if I’m getting arrested for maybe hitting a child. I didn’t hit anybody, and it should be on camera. Why am I being arrested?”
Officer: “There are two reasons: leaving the scene of an accident and being under the influence while driving.”
Dani Leigh: “I’m not under the influence. I passed all your tests. I wasn’t at the scene of an accident, and I didn’t cause any major injury.”
Officer: “Yes, you did, to a child.”
Dani Leigh: “Can I see the cameras? Because I didn’t do anything.”
Officer: “No, you’re going to be arrested. You’re under arrest for DUI and hitting someone while under the influence.”
Dani Leigh: “I passed all your tests. You know what she said? She said, ‘Oh, we’re… celebrity!'”
Officer: “You need to go over there.”
Dani Leigh: “Yo, I’m an artist, an R&B singer. Those are my boys, love.”
Officer: “That doesn’t mean anything. If you had hit someone, they could have died. But nobody’s dead. I’m telling you, it’s a very serious situation.”
Another Officer: “He’s lucky to be alive right now.”
Narrator: “Exactly what happened? On May 30, 2023, R&B singer Dani Leigh, aka Daniel Carell, was speeding in a Mercedes G-Wagon while intoxicated on 1942 tequila. A teenager on a scooter, attempting to cross the street, was hit by Danny L, who didn’t stop or slow down.
She kept driving, dragging the scooter along with the G-Wagon for several hundred yards. The victim was thrown to the ground, suffering severe injuries. Dani Leigh was pulled over about five blocks later by Miami Beach police. The victim was rushed to the hospital, suffering from a kidney laceration and a spinal fracture.”
Officer: “Did you hit a scooter?”
Danny L: “No.”
Officer: “Step out of the car.”
Danny L: “I know, come on. Get out.”
Officer: “Give me your stuff. Come on, take everything out. Turn around.”
Officer: “You’re not under arrest right now, but we’re figuring everything out.”
Dani Leigh: “I’m an artist. I’m a singer. An R&B singer.”
Officer: “That doesn’t mean anything. Sit down.”
Witness: “What’s up, boss? Yes, I saw everything from A to Z. I saw her behind the wheel, and I chased her down. She didn’t stop or slow down after hitting someone in the crosswalk with a scooter.”
Officer: “You guys were coming north on Washington, correct? The light was green, but the guy with the scooter was crossing the street, and she just kept going.”
Witness: “Exactly. The moped was dragged for blocks until we had to get her to stop.”
Danny L: “Nothing happened. I don’t know what they’re talking about.”
Officer: “You hit somebody on a scooter and left the scene. Why is there damage on your hood and bumper?”
Danny L: “There’s no damage.”
Officer: “Can I check?”
Danny L: “No, you cannot.”
Officer: “There is damage.”
Danny L: “Thank you, Julio.”
Officer: “This is a serious matter, and you’re sitting here laughing.”
Danny L: “I’m not laughing.”
Officer: “Someone could have lost their life because of you.”
Dani Leigh: “Nobody’s dying.”
Officer: “You don’t know that. This is very serious. You’re laughing, and you should feel bad.”
Danny L: “I didn’t hit anybody. I know I didn’t hit anyone.”
Officer: “If you hadn’t hit anyone, we wouldn’t be here.”
Dani Leigh: “I didn’t hit anybody. I know that for a fact.”
